Volunteer Job Description
Purpose:
Components:To enhance lives by giving opportunities for individualized attention or structured activities beyond what staff already do.
One-to-One Friends, Friend to a home, C.A.R.E. Program, Pet Therapy, Gruenert Center Helpers, SATC-Saturdays at the Center,
Fight for the Right, Junior Volunteers

As a volunteer, you are expected to:- Be reliable and punctual
- Be trustworthy
- Respect confidentiality
- Respect the rights of people you work with
- Have a non-judgmental approach
- Give feedback (i.e. participate in evaluations when asked)
- Complete volunteer trainings as required.
- Complete Volunteer Sign-In forms after each visit available in the program (hard copy) or online at www.ccpaterson.org/dpdministry
The mission of the Office of Child and Youth Protection is to ensure that all locations in the Diocese are fulfilling the church-wide effort to keep children safe from abuse.
Administration of the program where volunteering occurs.
- No experience with developmental/intellectual disabilities is required.
- Security checks required, such as criminal history check, fingerprint check, and reference checks.
Volunteers in a structured program (CARE, Fight for the Right, SATC) are expected to be present at all scheduled meetings to the best of their ability.
Individual, One-to-One, and Gruenert Center volunteers are expected to be available at a minimum of 1x per month to the best of their ability. All visits are pre-arranged with the program via contact by phone or e-mail.
The mission of the Office of Child and Youth Protection of the Paterson Diocese is to ensure that all locations in the Diocese are fulfilling the church-wide effort to keep children and vulnerable adults safe from abuse. To this end all volunteers are required to report any concerns related to abuse, neglect or exploitation of the individuals being supported in the DPD (Department for Person with Disabilities.)
