Our volunteer program strives to help people in need. We have over 200 regular volunteers throughout our 3 agencies who help us provide help and create hope at specific programs. In addition, we welcome general volunteers who are individuals, organizations, corporations, parishes, schools and youth groups who come for a day or days of service for specific projects such as painting, moving, cleaning, organizing and gardening.
Some of our volunteers choose to be matchedone to one with a special friend and do things together for an hour or so once or twice a month-Church, shopping, out to eat, bowling, movies, games or any activities that both enjoy.
Some volunteers assist with socialization or intergenerational activities at our Seniors Centers such as parties and bingo.
Some are general volunteers who come as an individual or part of a group. They come for a few hours or a day or two and assist with ongoing needs such as the Food Pantries and Thrifts Shops or special projects such as painting, cleaning, moving, gardening, etc.
Some volunteers spend time on Saturdays volunteering in “DPD's SATC-Saturdays at the Center” in Lake Hopatcong which provides socialization and recreation.
The Gruenert Center in Lake Hopatcong is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for those looking to donate their time during the day time hours on weekdays.
Pet Therapy is a group activity enjoyed by those served.
Sharing gardening skills or other such activities for the beautification of a home or program. Gardening skills are especially appreciated in our Food Pantry gardens which provide fresh produce for clients. Gardeners meet on Saturdays and sometimes on weekdays.
Our Food Pantries and Thrift Shops are always in need of assistance for sorting, stocking shelves, preparing food packages, etc.
Special skills and talents are welcome such as music, art, maintenance, graphic design, fundraising, construction, and technology.
Contact any of our volunteer coordinators to lend a hand or reach out to our Development Office at info@ccpaterson.org or 973-944-5992 with any general questions.
