There was a miracle on Straight Street this holiday season when over 200 new and gently worn winter coats were donated to the Halfway House and Long Term Residential Programs at Straight and Narrow.
A non-profit group based in Ridgewood, the Kelly Creegan Memorial Fund, collected several thousand coats at their 12th annual drive on Saturday, November 26th to honor the memory of Kelly Creegan, a beautifully spirited six year old who was fatally killed in an accident while playing in a friend’s driveway in 2011. The Foundation was formed by Kelly’s family to spread kindness throughout the Ridgewood community and beyond.
With temperatures dropping, many of Straight and Narrow’s service recipients were in need of a warm coat.
One individual said: “Thank you for donating the coats to Straight and Narrow. I have taken one for my own and it is a blessing. Thank God for the generous people who donated in memory of Kelly.”
Kelly’s legacy lives on through this beautiful foundation. We are grateful!
