The Murray House Dinner Dance is the annual gala and award ceremony for the Department for Persons with Disabilities (DPD). The event celebrates the good work of the Department and recognizes the individuals who live at, work for and volunteer within DPD. All donations for this event are restricted towards DPD and used to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
50 years ago, Murray House was born. Named after Jimmie Murray, a young man with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Murray House was a pioneer group home. Now in Clifton, it is the longest running group home for people with disabilities in all of New Jersey. The Murray Family co-hosts this event. 5 generations of Murray's have been involved with DPD throughout the last 50+ years.
In 2020, The Murray House Dinner Dance celebrated it's 50th year of providing help and creating hope for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Over 1,000 guests attended this anniversary celebration at the Brownstone, making it Catholic Charities largest event in our 80-year history.
