We are saddened by the loss of Msgr. John Fitzpatrick. Msgr. Fitzpatrick was a longtime priest of the Diocese of Paterson and past pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish (Oak Ridge).
“Father Fitz” was a dear friend to Catholic Charities, especially the Department for Persons with Disabilities. Fr. Fitzpatrick helped create CARE at St. Thomas, a pioneer program providing spiritual opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our Fitzpatrick House group home was opened and dedicated in 1999 and named after Msgr. Fitzpatrick. Please keep Monsignor Fitzpatrick’s family and friends in your prayers during this time. May he rest in eternal peace.
Donations in Monsignor Fitzpatrick's memory will be restricted towards our Department for Persons with Disabilities and may be made below.
Arrangements:
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Bishop Kevin Sweeney at St. Thomas the Apostle in Oak Ridge on Wednesday, May 25th. The viewing will be from 4 until 7PM. The Funeral Mass will begin at 7:30PM.
