Catholic Charities Provides Food for Seniors at the Paterson Adult Day Center
On March 24th the seniors from the Paterson Adult Day Center received food donations that were delivered to their homes by Catholic Charities Food Pantry Director Carlos Roldan and Carolyn James from the PADC. Mr. Roldan and his team carefully bagged food and delivered it to each of the senior's apartments.
The Paterson Adult Day Center was the first and currently the only Social Senior Day Center in the entire city of Paterson, established over 45 years ago. The center provides socialization, a hot nutritious mid day meal, social services support, transportation and activities to 25 seniors, 60 years and older living in Paterson.
The PADC is currently closed, but each day the seniors from the PADC receive check in call from caring PADC staff.
Yesterday one of the seniors said that she was very low on food. This same senior takes care of her special needs grandson with no support. Today when she received the food she said to Carolyn, happily "now we can eat."
This quote says it all and truly shows how we can make a difference in the lives of others!
