Volunteers also needed for our C.A.R.E.meetings, one evening each month at St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Oak Ridge.  This program provides adults with developmental disabilities to join a beautiful community of faith and have the chance to meet socially, to express their feelings about their religion, sing songs, crafts, express grief and pray together.  General volunteers go to the homes and help with any activity that will be helpful or enjoyable.  Also assist with fundraising activities and some work "behind the scenes" helping with landscaping, mending and doing things for the people.  We also always can use extra hands at our Adult Training Center in Lake Hopatcong to help with lunches and with recreation after lunch.  Anyone who has a Pet Therapy dog with certification from a program would be warmly welcomed in any of our homes where our residents love to see their four-legged friends come to visit.
