- Locations in Passaic, Morris and Sussex Counties in Jefferson, Sparta, Lake Hopatcong, Wayne, Butler, West Milford, Clifton, Pompton Lakes and Parsippany.
- Volunteers enrich the life of one or more of the people in our homes or center. The "People Need Friends" program has different areas for you to get involved. Volunteers are matched with an individual as a friend or are general friends of all residents in the home. The opportunities that can foster a friendship are based on the volunteers' and residents' specific interests, skills and talents and also the time they can share.
- Volunteers also needed for our C.A.R.E.meetings, one evening each month at St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Oak Ridge. This program provides adults with developmental disabilities to join a beautiful community of faith and have the chance to meet socially, to express their feelings about their religion, sing songs, crafts, express grief and pray together. General volunteers go to the homes and help with any activity that will be helpful or enjoyable. Also assist with fundraising activities and some work "behind the scenes" helping with landscaping, mending and doing things for the people. We also always can use extra hands at our Adult Training Center in Lake Hopatcong to help with lunches and with recreation after lunch. Anyone who has a Pet Therapy dog with certification from a program would be warmly welcomed in any of our homes where our residents love to see their four-legged friends come to visit.
- We require a Volunteer Application, interview, orientation, electronic fingerprinting, references and two evenings of volunteer training and the Protecting God's Children Training required throughout the Diocese.
